Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho scored twice and set up another as England eased to a 4-0 win against Chile in their FIFA Under-17 World Cup opener in Kolkata.

Sancho, 17, who joined Dortmund from Manchester City at the end of the summer transfer window, created Callum Hudson-Odoi’s opening goal in the fifth minute at the Salt Lake Stadium, before turning on the style in the second half and scoring twice himself.

The attacking midfielder was named in Dortmund’s first-team squad for the first time in Matchday 7’s 2-1 win against Augsburg, and although he didn’t get onto the field, a BVB debut would not appear too far away and would make him the first English player to appear for the North-Rhine Westphalia club.

Next up for the Young Lions following the Chile win is a meeting with Mexico on Wednesday, also in Kolkata, before facing Iraq in the same city on Saturday.
