The 30-year-old custodian received 156 points in the annual poll published by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS), beating Juventus FC's Gianluigi Buffon (91 points) and Sporting Clube de Portugal's Rui Patricio (50 points) to the accolade.

Surpassing Bayern legend Oliver Kahn, Neuer joins Buffon on four World's Best Goalkeeper crowns, with only Spain's Iker Casillas winning more (five).
