Incredible as it seems, the 2016/17 Bundesliga season is already drawing to a close, and as usual at the business end of a campaign, it is time to hand out the prizes. We want you to decide who is honoured by voting for the bundesliga.com Team of the Season.

Javi Martinez(Bayern Munich)

The next place up for grabs is the second slot at centre-back. Will you be swayed by a candidate with an eye for goal, or is it sheer brawn and an ability to keep strikers at bay that swing it for you?

Now in his fifth season at Bayern, the Spaniard has largely managed to steer clear of injuries to showcase his qualities at the back. Robust in the tackle and an excellent reader of the game, Martinez's distribution is also outstanding, with 91 per cent of all his passes finding a team-mate. The fact that only four outfield players have had more minutes on the pitch for Bayern than the 28-year-old this season indicates how highly prized he is by coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Willi Orban (RB Leipzig)

Orban has been the bedrock upon which Leipzig's astonishing debut Bundesliga season was built. A physically imposing figure, the 24-year-old captain has marshalled the backline superbly, to such an extent that only Bayern have conceded fewer goals this term than the top-flight newcomers. Add his three goals and one assist into the mix, and you have a candidate who excels in every department.

Niklas Süle (Hoffenheim)

When the record German champions sign you, despite already having three FIFA World Cup winners at centre-back, then you must truly be something special. Such is the case for the Hoffenheim defender, who will move to Bayern in the summer on the back of a remarkable campaign in which he helped the Sinsheim club secure UEFA Champions League football next season. Uncompromising in the air and on the ground, the 21-year-old wins two-thirds of all duels and has a habit of popping up with a goal or two as well.
