The new year has brought a wave of good tidings for Borussia Dortmund, with the news that Marco Reus will be with the squad at the club's warm-weather training camp in Marbella, while several other key players have also returned to fitness.

Reus, 28, is making good progress on his recovery from a cruciate ligament tear, and will travel with the rest of Peter Stöger's ensemble to Spain on Wednesday. He is expected to take part in some drills with the rest of his team-mates ahead of an anticipated return to full training in February.

The attacker will be joined there by Mario Götze, who is now fit again after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in the memorable 4-4 draw with Schalke in November. Lukas Piszczek, Gonzalo Castro and Erik Durm will also be aboard the plane now that they have shaken off long-term injuries of their own.

Dortmund will be in Marbella from 3 – 9 January and will play two friendly games there against Bundesliga 2 leaders Fortuna Düsseldorf and Belgian cup winners SV Zulte Waregem. BVB's first Bundesliga outing following the winter break is a home fixture against Wolfsburg on Sunday 14 January.
