Borussia Mönchengladbach

Ibrahima Traore: "It was a difficult game because Wolfsburg are one of the best teams in the league. I think both teams were tired after playing in the Champions League, but we wanted it more. Again we put a lot of effort into our pressing game, which takes its toll. Overall, we played well and deserved to win. Now we can use the international break to recharge and enjoy the three-match winning run we've put together in the Bundesliga."

Havard Nordtveit: "We definitely deserved to win. We were compact and hardly gave away any chances. Once I scored to make it 1-0, I had a good feeling that we'd win the game. Of course I'm delighted to be able to have helped the team with the goal. Three successive Bundesliga wins is a great way to go into the international break."

Granit Xhaka: "We played well, especially in defence, where we gave hardly anything away. There were definitely some tired legs after our exertions over the last few days, but we still tried to play our game for 90 minutes. We put Wolfsburg under pressure early - they really didn't like that. We had good chances in the first half to take the lead. For me, we fully deserved the win."

Andre Schubert (coach): "The way the team performed on the back of an intense few days is just fantastic. We ran and fought so hard, and also played good football. A number of things played a decisive part in the win, but for me, the passion and character the lads showed was just outstanding and really important. I'm proud that we've picked up another deserved win. I'm enjoying working with the team - they've just got on with it in the last few days."

VfL Wolfsburg

Maximilian Arnold: "Gladbach scored twice and we didn't. That was the difference today. We played well in the first half but didn't take our chances. We made the wrong decision in front of goal a few times and then we conceded. Obviously, we really need to beat Hoffenheim after the international break. None of us will need any extra motivation for that one."

Andre Schürrle: "It's difficult to explain why we lost the game. It's difficult to come back after two goals in such a short space of time. When you concede like that it's hard to come back. We played well until the first goal, it was a hard fight but both sides had their chances. It's hard to accept the defeat."

Dieter Hecking (coach): "You could see both teams were feeling it after the last few days. We tried to use possession to control the game, but at the moment we're lacking the necessary tempo to keep the opposition in check. We didn't create anywhere near enough chances. It's tough to take when you're undone on the break straight after going 1-0 down. After that it was pretty much game over. We're not where we want to be at present, and that's somewhere we have to get to fast."
