There are no guarantees that Bayer 04 Leverkusen duo Lars Bender and Ömer Toprak will make the squad to face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, after both picked up knocks on UEFA Champions League duty in midweek. Aleksandar Dragovic and Wendell could, therefore, slot into the back four, while fit-again veteran striker Stefan Kießling is pushing for a start.

Dortmund also have post-Champions League injury concerns of their own, with Andre Schürrle labouring under the effects of a niggling leg problem. Thomas Tuchel will continue with his rotation policy in any case, meaning a probable starting berth for USMNT international midfielder Christian Pulisic.
Leverkusen possible line-up: Leno – Bender, Tah, Toprak (c), Henrichs – Kampl, Aranguiz – Brandt, Calhanoglu – Chicharito, Volland
Absentees: Bellarabi (tendon injury), Yurchenko (broken leg)
Coach: Roger Schmidt
Dortmund possible line-up: Bürki – Piszczek, Sokratis (c), Bartra, Schmelzer – Weigl – Pulisic, Castro, Guerreiro, Dembele – Aubameyang
Absentees: Bender (ankle), Durm (knee), Reus (leg), Subotic (chest)
Coach: Thomas Tuchel
Leverkusen play host to Dortmund with the game kicking off at 18:30CEST/16:30GMT on 1 October.
