Hamburg appoint Markus Gisdol as their new coach
Hamburger SV have moved quickly to replace Bruno Labbadia as head coach, announcing the appointment of Markus Gisdol within 24 hours of terminating the former's contract.
Gisdol, who most recently coached TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, will be formally presented to the press on Monday alongside his assistants Frank Fröhling and Frank Kaspari. The 47-year-old has signed a contract which runs until 30 June 2017.
Hamburg parted ways with Labbadia on Sunday morning with the club still searching for their first win of the 2016/17 Bundesliga season following their 1-0 loss to FC Bayern München on Saturday.
