FC Bayern München could wrap up the title on Matchday 33, while the battle to avoid relegation from the Bundesliga is reaching what promises to be a thrilling climax.

Title race

bundesliga.com looks at the possible permutations ahead of this weekend's action…

FC Bayern will be champions….

…if they win their away game at FC Ingolstadt 04, which you can listen to live on Bundesliga radio.

…if the Reds draw and Borussia Dortmund fail to win their game at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Europa League

Mainz will guarantee themselves seventh place and qualification for the UEFA Europa League

…if they win their match at VfB Stuttgart...

…if they draw at Stuttgart and 1. FC Köln fail to win at home to SV Werder Bremen.

…if neither Köln nor Ingolstadt win.

Relegation battle

40 points is enough for survival already...

...since Stuttgart and Frankfurt can both only reach a total of 39 points.

This means FC Augsburg (37 points) TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (37 points) and Hamburger SV (38 points) can guarantee survival this weekend if they beat FC Schalke 04, Hannover 96 and VfL Wolfsburg respectively. Wolfsburg (38 points) need only a draw to be safe.

39 points will be enough for survival…

…if Stuttgart fail to win, or if Bremen AND Frankfurt fail to win.

That would mean….

Wolfsburg could lose their game with Hamburg and still avoid the drop...

…Hamburg would only need to draw Wolfsburg…

Augsburg would have to win at Schalke

...and Hoffenheim would have to win at Hannover.

38 points will be enough for survival…

…if Stuttgart fail to win or if Bremen AND Frankfurt fail to win. That would mean...

…Augsburg and Hoffenheim would both need just a draw…

...SV Darmstadt 98 would need a win at Hertha Berlin...

…and Wolfsburg and Hamburg could both lose.

37 points will be enough for survival…

…if Frankfurt and Stuttgart both lose this weekend. That would mean Bremen and Darmstadt could be safe with wins this weekend.

37 points will be enough for survival…

…if Bremen fail to win and Stuttgart lose.

Bremen and Frankfurt play each other on Matchday 34, meaning only one of these teams can reach at least 37 points, while Stuttgart, if they lose this weekend, can only claim a maximum of 36 points. Darmstadt would therefore have to win this weekend, while Augsburg and Hoffenheim could both lose this weekend and be safe - if Bremen win and Stuttgart lose.

37 points is the minimum number that can guarantee safety, so neither Frankfurt nor Stuttgart can secure safety this week.
