The first team hailing from the former East Germany to play in the Bundesliga since Energie Cottbus in 2009, Leipzig did not disappoint on their maiden top-flight outing at the sold-out Red Bull Arena.
A party atmosphere had engulfed the 2006 FIFA World Cup venue long before kick-off, but few would have anticipated such high drama in the dying embers of a game that had ebbed and flowed at 100kmph, in true Bundesliga style, from the get-go.
