The 23-year-old thundered in a half-volley to reduce the deficit to 2-1 at the Allianz Arena, but it was nevertheless not enough to prevent his side succumbing to a 4-1 defeat.

Still, his goal beat off the competition from Bayern's Arjen Robben, who netted a with a trademark curler; an acrobatic volley from Cologne's Anthony Modeste, and a peach from Schalke's Guido Burgstaller in the Royal Blues' win against Wolfsburg.
