FC Bayern München's Arjen Robben has been ruled out of representing the Netherlands in two friendly internationals next week due to an injury which will also see the winger miss his side's trip to 1. FC Köln this weekend.

The 32-year-old was forced to miss Bayern's dramatic extra-time win over Juventus in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday due to a groin injury. Although it is "no big deal," according to Bayern's sporting director Matthias Sammer, the problem is enough to rule him out of action at least for the next week.

He has therefore been excluded from the Netherlands' squad for upcoming friendly matches with France and England as he "focuses fully on his recovery," according to the Dutch Football Association.

Robben has featured in each of Bayern's eight Bundesliga outings since the winter break, having missed their final four matches of 2015 with a similar injury. Bayern will nevertheless hope to have him back at full fitness following the international break.
