Iceland forward Alfred Finnbogason is in contention for his first appearance since Matchday 6 after recovering from the pelvis problem that has dogged him. He is likely to start on the bench, however, despite fellow forward Raul Bobadilla struggling with a foot injury. Jeffrey Gouweleeuw is available after a back problem, but Jan Moravek (adductor) and Ja-Cheol Koo (ankle) are doubts.

The influential Vincenzo Grifo will return to the Freiburg starting line-up after beginning the MD24 draw with Hoffenheim on the bench. Marc Torrejon and Caglar Söyüncü are expected to be given the nod at the heart of the visitors' defence.
