Augsburg have significant injury worries as they bid to beat a team in the top half of the table for the first time this season.

Defender Jeffrey Gouweleeuw is still absent after sitting out the past two games, midfielders Daniel Baier and Jonathan Schmid are not at 100 per cent, while Paraguayan forward Raul Bobadilla - who scored the winning goal against Darmstadt on Matchday 22 - is also a doubt after picking up a knock in last week’s game.

The Leipzig squad has a much cleaner bill of health, with no fresh personnel concerns for head coach Ralph Hasenhüttl to contend with. Oliver Burke will not be part of the visiting ensemble on Friday. The Scottish winger returned to training on Tuesday after a thigh problem but this week’s game has come too soon for him. Yussuf Poulsen and Lukas Klostermann are also still sidelined by injury.
