Borussia Dortmund were happy to have recorded a 1-0 win over Hannover 96 on Saturday that gives them more points than they earned in the entire 2014/15 campaign.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Dortmund midfielder): "It was a nice goal. I got the ball from Marco Reus and actually wanted to play a one-two with him, but then I saw a defender was behind him so I ran past him. I was aiming for the far post with my shot, and luckily that's where it went."

Marcel Schmelzer (Dortmund defender): "If we'd made the most of our early chances it would've been a lot easier for us. We knew it'd be difficult, but we also made life difficult for ourselves."

Neven Subotic (Dortmund defender): "I had a few butterflies in my stomach as it was my first home game this season. It was like going back into an old apartment: you know everything and feel at home. The win was thoroughly deserved. We showed a good reaction in the second half and found solutions."

Thomas Tuchel: (Dortmund coach): "It was very tough today. After 15 or 20 minutes, sloppiness crept into our game. A lot of the time it looks easier than it actually is, but that wasn't the case today. It really looked like hard work, which it was. We started well and had a few clear-cut chances in the first 20 minutes, but unfortunately we didn't make the most of them. If that happens, then it gets harder and harder. There was definitely room for improvement today, but we're happy to take the three points."

Thomas Schaaf (Hannover coach): "We played well, were disciplined and helped each other out. Unfortunately we weren't rewarded for our efforts. We didn't have a lot of chances, but we did have some opportunities. If we'd have played with more confidence we could've hurt Dortmund. We weren't tight enough at the back on one occasion, and that's when they scored."

Andre Hoffmann (Hannover midfielder): "For their goal, we were on the attack but didn't track back well and then everything just happened so quickly. Dortmund punish every little mistake, which we saw today."
