Bremen coach Alexander Nouri will be relishing having key members of his squad available once more, with Claudio Pizarro and Clemens Fritz back to full fitness. Luca Caldirola made a second-half appearance in a friendly against Eintracht Braunschweig last week, but a starting XI call up for the Italian seems unlikely. Izet Hajrovic is still out of action for the time being as the Bosnian continues to recover from a knee operation.

Watch: Highlights of Bremen's 1-1 draw away at Hoffenheim on Matchday 16:

Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel is without top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is representing Gabon at the Africa Cup of Nations, while there are several other absentees. First choice goalkeeper Roman Bürki is still recovering from a broken hand; knee issues continue to plague both Neven Subotic and Nuri Sahin; and Sven Bender faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining an injury in a recent friendly with SC Paderborn. However Tuchel will see how Sokratis came through training following an ankle problem, and Ousmane Dembele will also be assessed after a hip injury. Marco Reus is likely to shoulder the attacking responsibilities in Aubameyang's absence.
