Despite the lengthy winter break, FC Augsburg still have several players recovering from injury ahead of this weekend's fixture. Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker and strikers Caiuby and Alfred Finnbogason remain absent, but Raul Bobadilla and Philipp Max could return after featuring in recent friendlies.

Following Real Madrid CF's defeat at the weekend, Julian Nagelsmann's side are now the only club in Europe's top five leagues yet to taste defeat this season. The visitors will be looking to maintain that record on Saturday, but are likely to be without striker Eduardo Vargas, who has been on duty with the Chile national team in China. Fellow forward Mark Uth is fit again and likely to play, giving Nagelsmann virtually a full squad to choose from,
