Borussia Mönchengladbach's Tony Jantschke will be unavailable for three months after suffering an injury to his left knee.

Injuries piling up

Ahead of Tuesday's DFB Cup clash with SV Werder Bremen, the defender underwent an operation to determine the extent of the injury, which he picked up during Gladbach's 5-0 defeat at Bayer 04 Leverkusen on Matchday 16.

It was confirmed prior to kick-off that Jantschke would be ruled out for the next three months.

The 25-year-old has already missed seven Bundesliga matches this season due to a problem in the lower leg and then a damaged ligament in his shoulder.

Patrick Herrmann, Nico Schulz, Andre Hahn and Alvaro Dominguez are all currently unavailable through injury.
