SC Freiburg head coach Christian Streich has a handful of decisions to make ahead of the visit of SV Darmstadt 98. Julian Schuster - making his first start of the season - and Mike Frantz impressed as the two holding midfield players in the 1-1 draw with Bayer 04 Leverkusen, but Nicolas Höfler and Amir Abrashi are pushing for recalls following suspension and injury respectively. Janik Haberer will hope to keep his place in attack after opening his Bundesliga account last weekend.

Taking charge of Darmstadt for the first time since being appointed interim coach following the dismissal of Norbert Meier, Ramon Berndroth will have to do without injured midfielder Änis Ben-Hatira. The Tunisian is suffering from an ankle injury that kept him out of the 2-0 defeat to Hamburger SV, and could be joined on the sidelines by Florian Jungwirth, who is struggling with a foot injury.
