Hamburg concern as Lasogga dislocates shoulder

Hamburger SV striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga could be facing a three-month spell on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in Saturday’s 3-1 Nordderby win over SV Werder Bremen.

Labbadia realistic

The 23-year-old had to leave the field of play in the 24th minute at the Weser Stadium after landing awkwardly following a challenge with Bremen’s Zlatko Junuzovic, and may now require surgery.

"If he’s really unlucky, he’ll need an operation," revealed HSV head coach Bruno Labbadia. "Because it’s the second time he has dislocated his shoulder, an operation is actually what’s needed. That’d mean a lay-off of three months."

Lasogga has been key to Hamburg’s much-improved form this season, scoring six goals and registering two assists in 14 Bundesliga outings. HSV, who moved to of the UEFA Champions League places after beating Bremen, host 1. FSV Mainz 05 next weekend.
