Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach winger Andre Hahn will be out of action until next year after suffering a tibial plateau fracture and a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee on Matchday 10.

The 25-year-old was brought on as a 74th minute substitute in the Foals’ 3-1 win over FC Schalke 04 on Sunday, but was forced off the pitch just six minutes later following a tackle by Johannes Geis, who was shown a straight red card.

After receiving treatment on the pitch Hahn was immediately taken to hospital, where it was determined he will undergo corrective surgery on the injury on Monday. The club reported that he is not expected to return to first-team duties until after the winter break.
