Bayer Leverkusen defender Tin Jedvaj will miss the start of the 2017/18 Bundesliga season after sustaining an injury in training on Thursday.

The 21-year-old suffered a hairline fracture in his right shin following a tackle during the club's morning session and is expected to be out of action for around ten weeks.

That means the Croatia international, who has made 55 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen since joining in summer 2014, will play no part in the season opener against reigning champions Bayern Munich on 18 August.
