Moving house and setting up home in pastures new is an occupational hazard for today’s professional footballer, although in most cases clubs and agents handle the intricacies of the process to minimise the distractions for the player.
New Augsburg signing Marcel Heller, who has played for nine clubs in his itinerant career, is more familiar with the moving process than most, a process that includes trying to get the best deal possible for old furniture.
Uprooting from Darmstadt, where he has played since 2013, to Augsburg, Heller has put his sofa up for sale on Facebook - for the bargain price of €850!
“Selling a couch/sofa because I’m moving house,” wrote Heller on Facebook. “In excellent condition. Please get in touch with any further questions.” The post then linked to the eBay advert (above) for the sofa.
The post has since been removed, perhaps indicating that the attraction of sitting on a sofa once owned by a Bundesliga star remains significant.
