Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal has heaped praise on his teammate James Rodriguez, describing the Colombia playmaker as someone who can “leave you standing.”

James joined Bayern from Real Madrid in the summer, and having initially struggled to settle, has now racked up three goals and six assists in the Bundesliga, leaving fellow South American Vidal convinced of his teammate’s ability.

“James is a player who has everything to succeed at Bayern,” the Chilean - winner of back-to-back Bundesliga titles over the last two seasons - told Spanish sports daily Marca. “He can leave you standing alone at any moment; he takes a good free-kick and has a spectacular left foot.”

Vidal has thrived playing alongside the lock-picking lefty, scoring five and assisting two in the 2017/18 campaign with late breaks from the middle of the park. Il Guerriero is convinced the club can battle their way towards more silverware with James on board.

“[James] has many qualities,” he concluded. “He was at Real for some time and he is here for a reason, now. I want to win the Champions League with Bayern.”
