Anastasios Donis, who scored his first goal for Stuttgart in the 2-1 win over Cologne on Friday, dislocated his shoulder in training on Wednesday and will miss between five and six weeks, the club confirmed.

Stuttgart announced on Wednesday that despite the injury, 21-year-old Donis will not undergo an operation and will instead go through a normal rehabilitation process.

The English-born forward, who joined Stuttgart from Juventus this summer, had started each of Stuttgart’s last five Bundesliga matches. He scored the opening goal against Cologne on Friday with a tidy finish having held off the challenge of Frederik Sörensen.

The injury means that Donis is likely to miss games against RB Leipzig, Freiburg, Hamburg, Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen.

Stuttgart face Leipzig away from home on Saturday at 15:30 CEST/13:30 GMT.
