Upon arriving in the Chinese capital, there was no time to rest for the former FC Schalke 04 and Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper, as he participated in a 90-minute live-streamed interview with the Tencent network at Qianhai Lake.

There followed further television interviews with Sina and LeSports, while the 46-year-old also sampled some local flavours, tasting Chinese sweets, enjoying a crash course in the language and driving an electric car.

Lehmann will be in Beijing until 27 August, before moving on to Singapore. While in Asia, he will serve as an analyst/expert for the Bundesliga's media partners – including on the official season opener between FC Bayern München and SV Werder Bremen – and take part in various other consumer activities.

Meanwhile, former Bayern and Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Lothar Matthäus will travel to Los Angeles and Buenos Aires in a similar capacity.
