Cologne - Bundesliga duo Kevin Volland and Jannik Vestergaard have been named in the official Team of the Tournament for the recently concluded UEFA Under-21 Championships.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim attacker Volland netted twice as Germany reached the semi finals of the tournament. Although the German youngsters were eliminated at the hands of Portugal, UEFA technical observers adjudged that the captain's brace against Denmark in the group stage, as well as inspirational displays against Serbia and Czech Republic, were worthy of taking the lone striker's spot in the tournament's best XI.

Joining him there was Vestergaard, whose own inspirational displays as captain helped Denmark to the semi finals, where they lost out 4-1 to Sweden. The SV Werder Bremen defender was a rock throughout the tournament for the Danes, who qualified for the last four for the first time in their history.
