Stuttgart - VfB Stuttgart have completed the signings of Australian international goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak and Czech Republic youth international forward Jan Kliment.

Competition for places

Former Borussia Dortmund stopper Langerak has signed a three-year contract at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, while Kliment has put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Langerak, who will compete with Polish international custodian and fellow new arrival Przemyslaw Tyton for the number one jersey at the Baden-Württemberg giants, made 35 appearances in all competitions for die Schwarz-Gelben, whom he joined from Australian outfit Melbourne Victory in 2010.

He started four of the final five league matches of the 2014/15 campaign before making his final appearance for the club in the 3-1 DFB Cup final defeat to VfL Wolfsburg at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Langerak has won six caps for Australia and was one of three Bundesliga stars to be named in the Socceroos’ 2014 FIFA World Cup squad.

Kliment, meanwhile, joins the club from Czech top flight outfit FC Vysocina Jihlava. The 21-year-old featured in all three of his country’s Group A encounters at the 2015 UEFA Under-21 European Championship, including the 1-1 draw with Germany in Prague.
