Cologne - Tennis superstar Andrea Petkovic is one of the biggest names in her sport. To date she has won six WTA tournament events, and is currently ranked number 14 in the world.

In this exclusive interview with bundesliga.com, she speaks about the promotion of her favourite team, SV Darmstadt 98, and how she is eagerly anticipating the opening match of the season.

bundesliga.com: Who was your childhood hero?

Andrea Petkovic: Eminem. I knew the albums 'Slim Shady' and 'Marshall Mathers' off by heart.

bundesliga.com: How important is the Bundesliga to you nowadays?

Petkovic: I follow the Bundesliga closely and as much as possible when it fits around my training and tournament schedules. Lots of my friends are huge football fans and when I'm at home, I'll often watch a matchday with them. I don't know many professional sports people who aren't interested in other sports. Football comes just after tennis in my affections.

bundesliga.com: What is your favourite Bundesliga memory?

Petkovic: As a Darmstadt fan and coming from the city, it would obviously have to be the Lilies' sensational promotion. I was at the French Open at the time, but it still gave me goosebumps.

bundesliga.com: Which match are you most looking forward to in the new season?

Petkovic: For me, the highlight will undoubtedly be the local derby between Darmstadt and Eintracht Frankfurt.

bundesliga.com: Which team do you think will cause the biggest stir in 2015/16?

Petkovic: That's a tough one, because I can't see any real surprises in the clubs chasing the title or fighting against relegation. I think that Augsburg have the most potential to have a season that we wouldn't expect.
