Mönchengladbach - Borussia Mönchengladbach have snapped up 18-year-old Swiss prospect Djibril Sow from FC Zürich.

'Great potential'

The gifted central midfielder has signed a five-year deal valid through to 30 June 2020 and will go straight into the Gladbach Under-23s.

“Djibril is a talented player who has great potential,” enthused Borussia sporting director Max Eberl. “We want him to break into the first team via the U-23s.”

Sow, who turned out 20 times for the Zürich reserves last season, has so far amassed 21 youth international caps for the Switzerland U-16s, 17s and 19s.
