Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Germany youth international midfielder Julian Weigl from Bundesliga 2 side TSV 1860 Munich.

The 19-year-old, who is currently with the Under-20 squad at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, has put pen to paper on a four-year contract at the Signal Iduna Park.

'Great potential'

"Julian Weigl is an exciting prospect for our central midfield. We see great potential in him," Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said of the young string-puller, who becomes BVB's second signing of the summer after fellow midfielder Gonzalo Castro.

Weigl made 24 league appearances for 1860 in 2014/15, helping the Lions secure Bundesliga 2 safety courtesy of a 2-1 aggregate victory over third division outfit Holstein Kiel in the relegation/promotion play-off.
