FC Schalke 04 and 1. FSV Mainz 05 were the only Bundesliga sides in action today, and although both picked up positive results, there is still plenty of room for improvement. The Royal Blues had to come from behind to beat Vfl Osnabrück 3-2, while Mainz let a 1-0 lead slip against AS Saint -Etienne, eventually drawing 1-1. A day after signing for Hertha, Czech Republic midfielder Vladimir Darida (front, 3rd l.) has teamed up with his new side in their Austria training camp. The former Freiburg man and Berlin have agreed terms over a four-year deal, it was confirmed yesterday.
Geis to make Schalke debut

Switzerland goalkeeper Marwin Hitz has put pen on paper on a two-year contract extension at Europa League participants FC Augsburg. "I'm looking forward to taking on new challenges with FCA," said the 27-year-old, who joined the Bavarian side from VfL Wolfsburg in 2013.

Shortly after arriving in Shanghai, Franz Beckenbauer and former goalkeeper Raimond Aumann visited a youth football tournament where they were received by numerous young Bayern fans.
Hannover team presentation
The Lower Saxony capital club's fans are given the chance to go face to face with their heroes at the HDI-Arena as the Reds' new signings, including Turkey striker Mevlüt Erdinc (second image), are presented to the crowd wearing the new Hannover away kit.
Dortmund off to Switzerland
Five-time Bundesliga winners Borussia Dortmund will be heading south to Bad Ragaz for a one-week training camp in just a few moments. The trip has friendlies against Swiss side FC Luzern and Italian champions Juventus in store for new head coach Thomas Tuchel (l.) and Co. Salomon Kalou (l.) and his Berlin team-mates - including winger Nico Schulz, who has returned from his extended summer break after being involved at the Under-21 Euros - have come together at the capital's Tegel Airport this morning. Hertha will be spending eight days in Schladming, Austria, as they gear up for the upcoming season.
Ekdal in action
Hamburger SV new signing Albin Ekdal (l.) enjoyed his first practice session with his new team-mates today. The influential Swedish midfielder has been given the no. 9 shirt at the Bundesliga ever-presents, HSV have confirmed.
FC Bayern arrive in Shanghai
After a 90-minute flight, the Bundesliga record champions have touched down in Shanghai following a successful two-day stint in Beijing that included an impressive 4-1 victory over Spanish club Valencia CF. Bayern are currently on their way to the hotel before an afternoon training session in China's largest city.
