Leverkusen - There was no shortage of drama on Matchday 21 of the Bundesliga, but VfL Wolfsburg’s 5-4 victory over Bayer 04 Leverkusen - in which Wolves’ striker Bas Dost scored four goals - is likely to go down as one of the most astonishing matches in German top-flight history.

rounds up the best of the post-match reaction from a truly breathless encounter at the BayArena...

Bas Dost:

"Every time I scored I thought the game was over, but they fought back every time! It’s unbelievable! If that game finishes 4-4 we’d have been incredibly frustrated, but now we can laugh about it. It was a very difficult game. We were on top in the first half, but it was a completely different story after the break. It was too easy for Leverkusen to get back into the game, but to score five goals in an away match is great for us. We’re not thinking about Bayern - we’re aiming for the Champions League and I’m sure we’ll get there."

Andre Schürrle:

"Bas Dost was phenomenal today, that goes without saying. If a striker - or any player for that matter - scores four goals, it’s unbelievable. That’s not something you see every year and that’s why he was the standout player on the pitch today. I wasn’t bothered by the reception I got from the Leverkusen fans. It was a shame, but it doesn’t bother me."

Heung-Min Son:

"It’s a big shame that we lost. We fought back really well in the second half and I thought we played well too, but if you concede a goal like that in the final second it’s all the more painful."

Simon Rolfes:

"I’ve been involved in a game like this before against Wolfsburg when we won 3-2 after being 2-0 down. I scored two goals that day, so there were a few memories coming back from that game. At one stage it looked like we’d stage another incredible comeback against Wolfsburg, and we almost did, but we conceded a silly goal in the final minute of stoppage time and the red card didn’t exactly help our cause."
