Cologne - Having had a hand in all of Borussia Dortmund's goals in the five-time Bundesliga champions much-needed 3-0 win over SC Freiburg, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a thoroughly deserving winner of the bundesliga.com users' Matchday 20 Player of the Week vote.

The Gabonese international led the line as a lone striker for the fifth time this season and left an indelible mark on the game, setting up Marco Reus for the opener, utilising his pace to get in behind for BVB's second and showing great composure in bagging his first brace of the current campaign with the third.

De Bruyne involved again

Key to Jürgen Klopp's high-octane pressing game, Aubameyang, Dortmund's top goalscorer this season with seven strikes to his name, has returned from the with a point to prove after Gabon were knocked out in the group stages. The 25-year-old went a long way to doing just that as he fired die Schwarz-Gelben to their first win of the New Year, putting in an inspired performance that earned him 69 per cent of the bundesliga.com users' votes.

Involved in the Player of the Week vote for a third Matchday in a row, Kevin De Bruyne finished second behind Aubameyang with 21 per cent of the ballot after bagging a brace in VfL Wolfsburg's 3-0 win against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, which took his tally in 2015 to five goals in three games. The Belgian had just over double the amount of votes as Hamburger SV goalkeeper Jaroslav Drobny, whose goalkeeping heroics in HSV's 2-1 victory over Hannover 96, which included denying Joselu from the penalty spot, garnered him ten per cent of the poll.
