Freiburg - Relegation-threatened Borussia Dortmund radiated relief and positivity following Saturday's priceless 3-0 win at doleful SC Freiburg.

Borussia Dortmund

bundesliga.con finds out what some of the players from both camps made of the contest...

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: "[In the midweek defeat] against Augsburg we were mentally not quite up for it, but we made sure we were even better prepared ahead of the Freiburg match. We tried to be positive throughout the contest."

Marcel Schmelzer: "We deserved the win. Scoring three feels great. We worked really hard for this success, went into the game with high expectations and played really well. Our early goal was the key today. We kept going forward after taking the lead, but remained solid at the back at the same time. Now we can travel back to Dortmund in positive spirits, but we have to keep up our work and do well against Mainz too next week."

Mats Hummels: "A great weight has fallen from our shoulders. We've been able to win a couple of games since Matchday 10 or 11 and have played well in those wins, but haven't managed to build on that the following weekend. Our main objective is to get two wins in a row now. We put our foot on the pedal against Freiburg and put them under a lot of pressure, win a lot of balls and conceded very few chances. If we put in that sort of performance in the coming weeks we'll definitely get more wins."

Nuri Sahin: "Everything went well today. We were great defensively, played very well over the course of the 90 minutes and deserved to win by a three-goal margin. We've set the bar now. Goals like our third one today are possible if you're confidence is high and you're of the qualities you possess. The first two goals helped us get to that level, after that everything clicks into place. Everyone of us was able to show our true colours on the pitch. We're aware of the situation we're still in, but we're focused on the job at hand and want to turn the corner. We want to prove that against Mainz."

SC Freiburg

Oliver Sorg: "You just have to be honest and say Dortmund were the better team. We didn’t play well at all and were punished for it."

Felix Klaus: "We were outplayed all over the pitch today and deserved to lose - even by such a big margin."
