VfL Wolfsburg will have to do without defensive midfielder Josuha Guilavogui for three to four weeks, the Wolves have confirmed. The French international will undergo a groin operation and is likely to miss Wolfsburg's season restart at home to leaders Bayern. "At least we know now when he'll return," said sporting director Klaus Allofs.

Having visited the Sunshine State last year, the 27-year-old says he won't be visiting Disney World on this occasions, but has been on the lookout for crocodiles. After arriving in La Manga on Saturday, Dortmund endured a day of hard work on the training ground on Sunday. Marco Reus was able to partake in an hour of team training as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury, while Ciro Immobile and Nuri Sahin both suffered minor, although not serious, knocks. BVB, second-bottom in the tabs, restart their campaign with a daunting trip to Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Following the tragic news that Wolfsburg's Junior Malanda had been killed in a car accident on Saturday, VfL sporting director Klaus Allofs has confirmed that the club's planned tour to Cape Town will still go ahead. "It wasn't an easy decision - the players were utterly devastated [when they heard the news]. But we feel it's certainly the right one, and it's what Junior would have wanted," said Allofs. The squad had been due to fly out on Saturday evening before news of Malanda's death broke.
