Dortmund - There was yet more bad news for beleaguered Borussia Dortmund a day after their Klassiker defeat as it was revealed that captain will miss the next three weeks with a foot injury.

The centre-back was withdrawn at half-time in the five-time champions' 2-1 loss to league leaders FC Bayern München on Saturday and replaced by Neven Subotic. A medical examination by team medical officer Dr. Markus Braun then confirmed that Hummels had suffered sprained ligaments in his right foot.

The 25-year-old is set to miss Dortmund's upcoming encounters in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League, as well as Germany's UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia on 14 November.
