Schweinsteiger back in training with a ball
Munich - While the rest of the FC Bayern München squad were busy preparing for their UEFA Champions League encounter away to AS Roma on Tuesday, was back home in Munich, working on regaining his fitness following a persistent knee inury.
The World Cup winner, who has yet to make a competitive appearance for the Bavarians this season, underwent a series of drills in drizzling autumnal weather at the club's Säbener Strasse complex. Following an individual session with fitness coach Holger Broich, the 30-year-old proceeded to dribble around cones, as well as hitting passes and shooting at a small goal. Schweinsteiger returned to training last Friday, performing running and fitness exercises, but it is not yet known when he is expected to be available for first team action.
