Wolfsburg - Naldo once again proved just how much of a scoring threat he is as the VfL Wolfsburg centre-back struck the only goal in his side’s victory at home to FC Augsburg.

bundesliga.com rounds up what the Brazilian and the other protagonists had to say after the Matchday 7 encounter…

Naldo: I tend to score from set-pieces, so for me to find the net from open play... it was hardly a trademark strike. We didn’t play well in the first half and did better after the interval. We can do better than we showed today, but still managed to win. We’ve had a good past few weeks really, I like playing every three days - games are just more fun than training.

Diego Benaglio: There were chances at both ends, the game was very open until the very end. I guess we were the luckier side today. It took us a while to find a way into the game, but we showed great will throughout, although we were lacking creativity in the final third. I can now relax and look forward to the international break.

Timm Klose: These are the games we really need to win. It wasn't easy, but we showed good strength after the midweek match. We put ourselves under pressure and we dealt with it well, and I'm delighted we got the three points.

Marwin Hitz: Benaglio made a few good saves in the first half, but we just weren’t clinical enough. We created three or four clear-cut chances today which is pretty good for an away game. We defended well, but the defeat is pretty frustrating.

Tobias Werner: I’m very disappointed by today’s outcome. Both sides worked really hard, and we made life difficult for them, although we can play even better. Halil [Altintop] and I should both have scored before Wolfsburg broke the deadlock with their first chance. We gave our all, showed passion, but to win against such strong opposition you have to score the first goal.

Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker: It was a good performance overall and we didn't let them get many chances, which is why we're unfortunate to lose. But we take the positives and we'll carry on the way we are going.
