Dortmund - Shinji Kagawa's participation in this week's clash with SC Freiburg could be in doubt after the 25-year-old was withdrawn from training early on Thursday.

The man who re-joined Borussia this summer having left the club for Manchester United FC two years ago, pulled up suddenly and appeared to hold his groin after taking a shot. After a brief word with Jürgen Klopp, he then retired to the dressing room, after which the coach then brought the training session to an end.

Immobile takes it easy

Fellow attacker Ciro Immobile participated in training only briefly, putting himself through some early paces before calling it a day following the knock to the hip he suffered while playing for Italy on Tuesday.

Dortmund have been hit by a spate of recent injuries, with Marco Reus and Jakub Blaszczykowski both ruled out for four weeks and captain Mats Hummels struggling for fitness. BVB are currently eighth in the table with one league win from two games to their name so far this term.
