Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of Paraguay international Nelson Valdez from Abu Dhabi outfit al-Jazira Club.

Proven track record

Former Borussia Dortmund striker Valdez, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Greek giants Olympiacos FC, put pen to paper on a two-year contract on Tuesday morning.

The 30-year-old is set to link up with new Eagles' boss Thomas Schaaf, with whom he previously won the domestic double in 2003/04 during his five-year stint at SV Werder Bremen. "In Nelson Valdez we’ve been able to sign a player for Eintracht Frankfurt, who brings with him a wealth of experience and has already enjoyed a lot of success working with Thomas Schaaf. We’re delighted to have him on board," said sporting director Bruno Hübner.

Valdez has previously bagged 40 goals and 24 assists in 220 Bundesliga appearance for both Bremen and BVB. He has also won 66 caps for Paraguay since making his debut ten years ago, scoring 12 goals.
