Mönchengladbach – Luuk de Jong has taken his leave of Borussia Mönchengladbach after the Foals agreed terms with PSV Eindhoven for the transfer of the 23-year-old striker.

“Eindhoven were very keen to sign Luuk and we reached a mutually satisfactory agreement on the move. We wish Luuk all the best for the future and we'll be seeing him again soon in a friendly we've also arranged with PSV,” said Borussia sporting director Max Eberl.

Seven-time Dutch international De Jong joined Gladbach from FC Twente in the summer of 2012 and went on to score eight goals in 44 competitive outings all-told for the Foals. He spent the latter half of the 2013/14 season on loan at English Premier League club Newcastle United FC.
