Berlin - Hertha Berlin have bolstered their attacking options for next season with the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Julian Schieber.
The 25-year-old, who becomes Hertha's sixth summer acquisition, has signed a four-year contract with the capital club and will wear the number 16 shirt.
'Hertha convinced me'
"I'm delighted to be at Hertha and to play for the blue and white fans," said Schieber, who made 56 appearances for BVB in all competitions, scoring six goals. "Hertha have put a lot of effort into signing me, and coach Jos Luhukay and sporting director Michael Preetz have convinced me of their ambitions. "I want to thank the Dortmund coaching team and the incredible fans, who always supported me, for two fantastic years at the club," he added. "I learnt a lot from Jürgen Klopp, trained at the highest level every day and played in a Champions League final. Those are things that stick with you." Die Alte Dame have already signed Valentin Stocker, Marvin Plattenhardt, Jens Hegeler, Genki Haragutchi und John Heitinga this summer. "Welcome to Berlin!" tweeted Preetz on Thursday.
