Mainz - England is the novel training camp destination for 1. FSV Mainz 05 this summer. The UEFA Europa League qualifiers will pitch up at St. George's Park, the English FA's national football centre at Burton-on-Trent, from 20-26 July.

The team, under the orders of new coach Kasper Hjulmand, will arrange to play one or two friendlies over the course of their week at the Midlands complex, which officially opened in October 2012.

'Ideal base for focused preparation'

"St. George's Park offers us the ideal base for a focused preparation for our ninth season in the Bundesliga,” FSV general manager Axel Schuster said.

As far as the earlier restart schedule goes, Mainz have meanwhile announced a couple of further friendlies, with a trip to Hessen League outfit SKV Rot-Weiß Darmstadt scheduled for Saturday 5 July and a meeting with twelve-time Swiss champions FC Zürich penned in for the following Saturday (12 July) at Mainz's former Bruchwegstadion.
