Frankfurt - USA international Timothy Chandler has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt from 1. FC Nürnberg.

'One of our own'

The 24-year-old right-back, who only recently regained full fitness in time for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, has penned a three-year deal at the club he first joined as a youth player in 2001.

"We're really happy the deal's gone through," beamed Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner. "It's great that Chandler's come back to Frankfurt. He left as one of our own, but now he's home again. We wish him all the best with the American national team in Brazil."

Chandler signed for the Eagles as an 11-year-old, before moving to Nürnberg in the summer of 2010. He went on to register four goals in 95 top-flight appearances, but turned out just 21 times in 2013/14 owing to knee troubles as the Franconians were relegated to the second tier on the final day.
