Frankfurt - Eintracht Frankfurt have snapped up Japan captain from relegated 1. FC Nürnberg.

Experienced head

The 30-year-old midfielder will link up with compatriot Takashi Inui after agreeing to a deal that will keep him at the Commerzbank Arena until 30 June 2016.

"We're really pleased to have signed such an experienced player who's repeatedly proven his quality in the Bundesliga," enthused Eintracht sporting director Bruno Hübner. "We wish him all the success at the World Cup in Brazil and hope that, as captain, he'll be able to take his team as far as possible in the competion."

Hasebe, who joined VfL Wolfsburg from the Urawa Red Diamonds in 2008, played an important role in the club's surprise title win in his first season at the Volkswagen Arena, before moving to Nürnberg on a three-year deal on 2 September 2013. Injury, however, restricted the 78-time Japan international to just 15 appearances in a regrettable campaign that ended with the Franconians being relegated to the second tier on the final day.
