Munich - A stellar career at club and international level and winning, among others, the Bundesliga title and the DFB Cup mean that Christoph Metzelder is a man whose opinon matters a great deal when it comes to German football.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming DFB Cup final between Dortmund and FC Bayern München in Berlin this Saturday (kick-off: 18:00 GMT/20:00 CET), the 33-year-old said: "I think there are always cycles within a season. Dortmund's form is on the rise, while Bayern seem to have stagnated. Furthermore, BVB have created a perfect template to counteract Bayern's style of play. Dortmund always make life very difficult for Bayern."
