Leverkusen - After Bayer 04 Leverkusen sealed their place in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds next season thanks to a 2-1 win over SV Werder Bremen, they were able to celebrate a successful conclusion to a season which, after the winter break, appeared to be losing its way.

bundesliga.com rounds-up the thoughts of some of the game's key protagonists...

Heung-Min Son: It's a great feeling, but it wasn't only down to me. The whole team worked really hard to create the goal for me. It worked well, but it didn't matter who actually put the ball in the back of the net. The main thing is we've secured a Champions League berth. We didn't get into the game well in the first half, but we got a foothold again after the equaliser and played well after that.

Bernd Leno: It was a huge relief to the players and the fans because it was on a knife edge right to the last second. We've been making our lives difficult for ourselves not only today, but during the entire second half of the season, but fortunately we've clinched fourth place and that was our minimum objective. Fortunately, we've qualified for the Champions League play-off.

SV Werder Bremen

Aaron Hunt: That was probably the best first half we've played all season but we couldn't build on it in the second half. We didn't go into challenges the right way and stopped playing well on the counter.

Clemens Fritz: There were long periods in the game when we made things really difficult for them. The first half showed that we're capable of playing good football, we did really well. In the second half we weren't decisive enough going forward and gave Leverkusen too much room. They had a little more luck.
