Reus: 'Need to take it up another level'

Leverkusen - A fast and furious four-goal first half supplied the bulk of the action in Saturday's big game between Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund

bundesliga.com listened in on the post-match reactions to a high-quality encounter at the BayArena:

Marco Reus: It wasn't a great performance from us today. It was a very intesive game, especially in the first half but I think we were at fault for both goals, we left ourselves over-exposed and didn't get back quickly enough. But we hauled ourselves back into it. When we play our own game, press high up the pitch and win the ball, we do well. When we play like we did in the second half, it gets difficult. We're well aware of that and we know we'll need to take it up another level for the cup final [against FC Bayern, ed.].

Oliver Kirch: It was a very intensive game, unfortunately we had to come from behind twice but I think we responded very well and we can be satisfied with the point, I'd say that's a fair result.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Sebastian Boenisch: Everyone knows how strong Dortmund are up front but I think we had them pretty well under control all the same. We lost two goals from set pieces, including an unlucky penalty, but after going in front twice today and standing up to everything that was thrown at us, that was a thoroughly well-deserved point for us today.

Bernd Leno: I think this was the best performance of the second half of the season. I wasn't expecting it to be honest! We've struggled since the turn of the year and we've lacked a bit of self-belief, which makes today's result all the more exceptional.
