FC Bayern sign Frankfurt's Rode

Munich - FC Bayern München have confirmed the signing of defensive midfielder from Eintracht Frankfurt.

'Drive and energy'

The 23-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with the Bundesliga champions and will join up with the squad from 1 July 2014.

“I’m delighted the transfer has gone through,” said the Germany U-21 international. “Moving to Bayern is the next step up for me. I want to keep developing there and win a lot more trophies with my future team-mates.”

Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer said of the club’s newest recruit: “Sebastian Rode is an excellent professional who is the embodiment of hard wor and dynamism. I’m sure he’ll bring plenty of drive and energy to our team to contribute to our future success.”
