Leverkusen - Bayer 04 Leverkusen defensive midfielder Stefan Reinartz will undergo a calf operation on Tuesday, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old is going under the knife in order to release a compressed nerve, which has been causing him pain in his heel in recent weeks.
The operation will be conducted by Swiss specialist Dr. Bernhard Segesser in Basel. Bayer hope that the three-time German international will be back in training and available for the start of the 2014/15 campaign.
